Bianca Godwins is a 2017 graduate from The University of Georgia During her time at UGA, she was involved in multiple leadership, volunteer, research, and entrepreneurial activities including her roles as a mentor for LSAMP and the Athens Insight Program, an infectious disease researcher in Dr. David Peterson’s laboratory, the Vice President and Outreach Chairperson for The African Student Union where she engaged in large-scale philanthropy and a Makeup Artist for a self-started makeup artistry business. Following her UGA experience, she pursued her Masters of Biomedical and Health Sciences at The University of Alabama Birmingham where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and at the top of her class, thus gaining induction to UAB’s Alpha Eta Honors Society.

Bianca is now a second-year MD/MBA student at The University of Alabama Birmingham and Collat School of Business. Her passion for leadership and medicine has been the driving force for her most recent engagements where she has served as a UABSOM Admissions Host, VP of Finance for the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and a pre-medical consultant via her self-started academic/business consulting firm titled Diamond Element Consulting. Currently, Bianca is the President of AMWA, as well as the MS2 Rep for the Anesthesiology Interest Group, SHPEP Mentor, and a Lead Investigator for the SOPH/Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Project. Her overall goal is to become an Anesthesiologist and Chief Medical Officer, as she believes there is an incredible need for more minorities and female physician leaders in medicine. Her ultimate desire is to impact patients on a grander scale by innovating the intricate components of the healthcare system as a whole.
