Following her UGA experience, she pursued her Masters of Biomedical and Health Sciences at The University of Alabama Birmingham where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and at the top of her class, thus gaining induction to UAB’s Alpha Eta Honors Society. Bianca is now a second-year MD/MBA student at The University of Alabama Birmingham and Collat School of Business. Her passion for leadership and medicine has been the driving force for her most recent engagements where she has served as a UABSOM Admissions Host, VP of Finance for the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and a pre-medical consultant via her self-started academic/business consulting firm titled Diamond Element Consulting. Currently, Bianca is the President of AMWA, as well as the MS2 Rep for the Anesthesiology Interest Group, SHPEP Mentor, and a Lead Investigator for the SOPH/Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Project. Dr. Carter’s interest in medicine began shortly after he graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In 1995, Dr. Carter volunteered in the emergency room at Hermann Hospital in Houston. That same year, after working as a chemist at Oxid Petrochemical Plant in Houston, Dr. Carter enrolled in medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he ultimately earned his medical degree in 2001. Ms. Caruthers received her bachelor’s degree in biology, from the University of Nebraska Omaha (1998), a master’s degree in molecular, cellular, and systemic physiology with a certificate in anatomy, from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2005), and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2009).
