Following her UGA experience, she pursued her Masters of Biomedical and Health Sciences at The University of Alabama Birmingham where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and at the top of her class, thus gaining induction to UAB’s Alpha Eta Honors Society. Bianca is now a second-year MD/MBA student at The University of Alabama Birmingham and Collat School of Business. Her passion for leadership and medicine has been the driving force for her most recent engagements where she has served as a UABSOM Admissions Host, VP of Finance for the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and a pre-medical consultant via her self-started academic/business consulting firm titled Diamond Element Consulting. Currently, Bianca is the President of AMWA, as well as the MS2 Rep for the Anesthesiology Interest Group, SHPEP Mentor, and a Lead Investigator for the SOPH/Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Project. Her overall goal is to become an Anesthesiologist and Chief Medical Officer, as she believes there is an incredible need for more minorities and female physician leaders in medicine. Her ultimate desire is to impact patients on a grander scale by innovating the intricate components of the healthcare system as a whole.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Dr. Jerome Carter</image:title>
<image:caption>Jerome Carter, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Advanced Pain Management Specialists in the Baytown community of Texas. He has been practicing medicine throughout Texas since earning his medical degree nearly 18 years ago. In addition to working at the practice, Dr. Carter serves as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Texas medical branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Carter’s interest in medicine began shortly after he graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In 1995, Dr. Carter volunteered in the emergency room at Hermann Hospital in Houston. That same year, after working as a chemist at Oxid Petrochemical Plant in Houston, Dr. Carter enrolled in medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he ultimately earned his medical degree in 2001. After he completed a surgical internship based out of Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in Houston, Dr. Carter began the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program at the combined University of Texas/Baylor University Program. Directly after finishing the program in 2005, Dr. Carter went into private practice with Pete Nguyen, MD, in Baytown. He later purchased the practice from Dr. Nguyen’s estate and turned it into a thriving pain management clinic with Okezie Okezie, MD, FAAPMR, his good friend from medical school. Dr. Carter is excited to help patients relieve pain and take back control of their lives. When he is not working with patients, Dr. Carter enjoys traveling, weightlifting, jiu-jitsu, and attending live sporting and cultural events.</image:caption>
